III. Financial Statement for May 2007:
Ms. Lewis moved to approve the May
2007 financial statement, Mr. Wilder seconded the motion and it was carried
unanimously.
IV. Space
Needs:
Judge Conner reported that it is his
understanding that the rather sever
budget cutbacks the County is going to
face after the Legislative Special Session this summer, will have no impact on
what was previously funded out of this year’s budget for the renovation of the
first and second floors of the Old Courthouse.
This is significant because the Law Library is slated to move to the
first floor of the Old Courthouse when the renovations are complete. Judge Conner shared that his understanding is
from Judge Roby is that Doug Anderson has communicated that there was a concern
after the Legislative Session that there would not be any money to renovate the
space that the Law Library is in now once the Law Library moved out, but
apparently Mr. Anderson was able to find
enough money in the budget to at least handle the renovations on the first
floor of the Courthouse Addition. There
is no money to renovate the third and fourth floors of the Old Courthouse that
we are aware of yet, but the understanding is that as far as the first two
floors of the Old Courthouse, that was already in this year’s budget, so the
legislative impact was not going to impact that.
Ms. Lewis stated that she would need
to talk to Mr. Anderson about that, because she is not sure that she understood what Judge Conner
stated was quite the way that she understood it. Ms. Lewis stated that she will speak to Mr.
Anderson and get back to Judge Conner.
Judge Conner further advised that the Clerk, Ed Fry had given him the
same information and that the information had come to Judge Roby from Mark
Godwin.
V. Shelving Cost:
Ms. Everlove distributed an e-mail
concerning the cost of shelving for the new space and it was discussed. It was decided that this issue should be
tabled until Ms. Everlove could be present
VI: COSA Presentation:
Mr. Wilder informed that he would
get with Mr. Walker to see if he would be able to give the presentation at the
COSA Meeting. It was decided that if Mr.
Walker could not speak, then the presentation should be continued.
VII: Thompson/West Back Invoices:
Ms. Atkinson reported that Eppy had
informed her that the problem with the Thompson/West Charges had been worked
out and the pending bills would now be paid.
As no further discussion was to be
had, the meeting was adjourned.
